Discovering the nature of quantum matter
We are a theoretical condensed matter group at Princeton University and the Donostia International Physics Center. We aim to predict fundamental quantum effects and the materials in which experiments can observe them.
Our current work covers moiré materials such as twisted and rhombohedral graphene, flat bands and heavy-fermion physics, superconductivity and quantum geometry, fractional Chern insulators, topological phases of matter, and machine learning for materials. Much of it is done together with experimental groups, and the materials databases we build are open to everyone.
One thing that drew me to condensed matter theory is the fact that we can confirm or refute our theories via experimentation. Nature tells us whether we are on the right path.
